Premiere of Aria for Strings

Giancarlo Scalia's composition Aria for Strings, commissioned in 2008, will be premiered the 2nd of December 2008 by the Ecole de Musique Vincent d'Indy string orchestra, under the direction of Sven Meier. More information may be found on the Concerts page.

Premiere of Voler pero no podar

The short film Voler pero no podar, directed by Raimundo Morte and scored by Giancarlo Scalia, will have it's first Montreal screening on September 24th. The premiere will be held on the 9th and 10th of October in Barcelona as part of the 2008 Liber Festival.

Composition commission by the OHLDV

Giancarlo Scalia has been commissioned to compose a work for the Orchestre d'Harmonie Leonardo da Vinci's 2008/2009 season. He will compose a new work for piano soloist and wind/brass orchestra to be premiered in June 2009 with the composer as soloist.
